Brush Creek Players are pleased to announce open auditions for their production of the 1999 Broadway musical You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Revised), written by Clark Gesner and directed by Timothy J. Kelley II.

Auditions will be held from 7:30 to 9:30 on Thursday, January 24, Friday, January 25 and Saturday, January 26 at Brush Creek Playhouse, located at the intersection of Silverton and Brush Creek Roads. Those interested in a role are asked to bring a prepared two-minute monologue (contrasting) and a song with sheet music for the accompanist.

“Brush Creek Players are excited to bring this classic musical to the Brush Creek stage in the hands of an energetic and talented director,” said theater spokesman Michael Wood. “It is just one of the shows that make our 2013 season one of our most exciting.”

The show will be performed Friday, April 12 thru Sunday, April 28.

“The revised show is a fresh approach to the all-time 1967 classic,” Director Kelley said of the show. “Sally Brown joins Charlie Brown, Linus, Lucy, Schroeder and Snoopy in this version. Two new songs, ‘Beethoven Day’ and ‘My New Philosophy,’ have been added to the twelve wonderful numbers of the original version, such as ‘My Blanket and Me,’ ‘The Kite,’ ‘The Baseball Game,’ ‘Little Known Facts,’ ‘Suppertime’ and ‘Happiness.’”

“The Broadway production earned three Drama Desk Awards and two Tony Awards for a Featured Actress and Featured Actor,” Kelley said. Brush Creek hopes to offer an equally entertaining production, and encourages actors who want to be part of the show to audition. A Dark and Stormy Night – Opens Nov 9

Brush Creek Players offer the comic mystery It Was a Dark and Stormy Night as the 2012 teen & young adult production

Brush Creek Players close their 2012 season with It Was a Dark and Stormy Night.  The show opens November 9 and runs two weekends to close November 18.  The play is directed by Michael Wood.

The show by Corvallis author and playwright Bob Greenwade offers a genuine mystery wrapped in a light-hearted send-up of the traditional parlor mystery.

It Was a Dark and Stormy Night provides all the classic elements – strangers gathered in an isolated house, cut off from the world by a storm, working together to solve a mystery,” Wood said. “It even comes complete with a proper English butler.”

The production includes evening performances at 7 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, as well as 2 pm matinees on Saturdays and Sundays.
