Brush Creek closes its season with this delightful Neil Simon comedy about . . . what else? . . . relationships and all their quirky twists and turns.

I Ought to be in Pictures, directed by John Sams, opens Friday, November 6 and runs three weekends to close Sunday, November 22.

Sams describes the play this way:

The show’s cast includes Charlotte Bohlman as Steffy Blondell, Emily Wood as Libby Tucker, and Michael Wood as Herb Tucker. Cathy Sams serves as assistant director.

Performances are at 7 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 pm on Sundays each weekend. Tickets are $10 ($8 for seniors 60 and over, children 12 and under, and students with ID) and will be available soon at our Brush Creek’s two ticket outlets: Runaway Art & Craft Studio at 311 Commercial in downtown Salem and at 210 N. Water in downtown Silverton.

Brush Creek Players are seeking a cast for “You Know I Don’t Love You” – the 2015 Teen/Young Adult production. Open auditions will be held for actors and would-be actors aged 13 thru mid-20s at the theater (11535 Silverton Road, between Silverton and Salem) at 6 pm on Saturday, July 11, Sunday, July 12 and Monday, July 13. Director Michael Wood will be casting the show using cold readings and other impromptu exercises, so no special preparation is needed.

The script, written by Emily Wood and Michael Wood, visits with the Aldous Huxley High School class of 2005 as they gather for their 10^th reunion. Old friendships kindle to become something more, past relationships flare up in the magnifying glass of memory, and yesterday’s heroes explore what it means to pursue your dreams.

The show will open Friday, September 18 and run three weekend (with performances on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays).

Brush Creek is sorry to announce that we will not be able to produce the annual melodrama — we could not quite assemble the cast necessary, even for a staged reading. However, we are on target to put on our teen/young adult show, with auditions beginning July 11.

You still have a chance to play the heroine . . . or the hero . . . or the villain . . . .or any of an assortment of intriguing characters in Brush Creek’s 2015 Summer Melodrama.

At 6 pm on Sunday the 14th and Monday the 15th, we will be holding further auditions to complete casting “Love in the Cucumber Patch or The Pickled Road to Romance” by Janet Carter (with additional dialogue by Shannon Copeland and Sonya Heard). This light-hearted melodrama will be produced for three weekends beginning Friday, July 17. It is a wonderful opportunity for actors (or would-be actors) of all experience levels!
