Brush Creek holds auditions for “It’s a Wonderful Life” on September 26 and 27

Brush Creek is preparing to bring a beloved holiday classic to its stage — and you can be a part of this marvelous holiday production!  “It’s a Wonderful Life” comes to captivating life as a life 1940s radio broadcast. With the help of an ensemble that brings a few dozen characters to the stage, the story of idealistic George Bailey unfolds as he considers ending his life one fateful Christmas Eve.

Brush Creek will be casting its production using open auditions at 6 pm on both Monday, September 26 and Tuesday, September 27. The auditions will be held at the theater, which is located at 11535 Silverton Road (the intersection of Brush Creek and Silverton Roads — the parking lot entrance is off Brush Creek Road).

This is a wonderful opportunity for actors of all ages and experience levels. The play requires a cast of at least 3 men and 2 women, but director Norman Gouveia hopes to work with an ensemble of 10 to 12 actors or even more!

Rehearsals will depend upon roles and cast availability but typically occur weekday evenings. The production will open Friday, November 18 and run thru Sunday, December 4.

The script by Joe Landry is an adaptation of the original screenplay by Frances Goodrich, Albert Hackett, Frank Capra, and Jo Swerling — the screen version directed by Capra and starring Jimmy Stewart is a beloved holiday classic. And now you can help bring it to life for your friends and neighbors here on Brush Creek’s stage!

No preparation is necessary to audition. Just show up, ready to have a bit of fun.
